Shreveport-Bossier Gained More Dollars Than The Larger Market

Sam’s Town was the only one of the nine casinos to decline, losing $438,531. The market rose 0.9% from August’s $44,609,964.
Two Markets Supplied About 85% of the Riverboat Gain

Texas Has No Commercial Casinos
The state’s rules on gambling in Texas allow no commercial casinos, and tribal venues such as Naskila Casino are limited to bingo-class gaming. Legalizing casinos would take a constitutional amendment, which needs two-thirds of both chambers and statewide voter approval. Oklahoma’s tribal casinos are another out-of-state option, covered in a June report on how Texans bet billions in Oklahoma. Texas lawmakers next convene in regular session Jan. 12, 2027.
