AUSTIN – Texas programs sit at or near the top of the 2026 college football futures boards, led by Texas at +280 to win the SEC and +775 for the national championship at Bovada as of July 15, and not one of those bets can be placed legally inside the state.
Priced Like Contenders on Every Board
Only Ohio State at +600 and Notre Dame at +700 sit ahead of Texas on Bovada’s national championship board. At +775, the Longhorns carry an implied probability of about 11%, contender pricing in a field of more than 130 teams. The SEC board is stronger still. Texas is the +280 favorite, an implied 26%, ahead of Georgia at +350. Texas A&M sits fourth in the conference at +825 and +2200 for the national title.
The Heisman board reads the same way. Arch Manning is the +850 second choice behind Notre Dame’s CJ Carr at +700, and he is not the only Texas-school quarterback priced in the top tier. TCU’s Josh Hoover is +1600 and Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed is +3300, all at Bovada.
Tech Is Odds-On and Sorsby Is Cleared
Texas Tech is -105 to win the Big 12, the rare odds-on conference favorite. That number implies about a 51% chance, meaning Bovada prices the Red Raiders as more likely than not to win the league outright. Miami, at -140 in the ACC, is the only other power-conference favorite getting that treatment.
The price assumes Brendan Sorsby plays, and he will. The NCAA had ruled the quarterback permanently ineligible over roughly $90,000 in career wagers, a fight that put Sorsby’s Texas Tech future in front of a Lubbock judge in early June. Judge Ken Curry granted the injunction June 8, clearing him for the 2026 season. Sorsby sits the first two games and returns Sept. 18 for the Big 12 opener against Houston.
A Texas Team Near the Top of Five Conference Boards
The depth of the state’s footprint is the striking part. Five conference boards carry a Texas program in the top three, all at Bovada as of July 15.

SMU trails only Miami in the ACC, and Texas State sits third in the rebuilt Pac-12. Behind Tech in the Big 12, the chase is Texan too. Houston is +1800, TCU +2000 and Baylor +3500.
None of It Is Bettable at Home
Texas has no legal sportsbook, retail or mobile. The offshore books that accept Texans operate outside U.S. licensing, and the only regulated alternative is crossing a state line into a legal market. The one workaround inside the state is federally regulated prediction markets, where sports betting arrived in Texas without a vote when DraftKings and FanDuel began offering sports contracts this month.
Online gambling for Texans today means offshore sites, sweepstakes casinos and the new prediction markets. With the Legislature out until 2027, nothing changes before these futures pay out.
